Our Story
At Guacamoles, every taco tells a story—one of resilience, heritage, and love for authentic Mexican flavours.
Founded by Manolo de la Torre, better known as “Taco Manny,” our journey began as a non-profit stall in Hounslow to now as a humble pop-up in Peckham’s Rye Lane Market. But Chef Manny’s passion for real Mexican street food quickly turned a small stall into a must-visit eatery.
Chef Manny’s roots trace back to Veracruz, where his grandfather first built a legacy selling burritos to hardworking locals. That spirit of family tradition and perseverance carried Manny through his own journey—from seeking refuge in the UK to creating a home for Londoners craving honest, affordable tacos.
Today, alongside his wife Gabriella, he serves up not just food but a taste of the culture and memories that shaped him.
Our Food
Guacamoles is all about authenticity. Every taco is crafted with hand-pressed tortillas, carefully sourced ingredients, and flavours true to Chef Manny’s Mexican heritage.
Our signature birria simmers with 17 spices for hours, our carnitas are rich and tender, and our ox tongue melts in your mouth. But it’s not just about the meat—vegetarian options, freshly made horchata, and pozole bring comfort with every bite. And for those with a sweet tooth, ‘Abuela’s Victoria’ Cake—an heirloom recipe—ends the meal on the perfect note.
We believe great food should be accessible, which is why our tacos remain deliciously affordable. No gimmicks, no shortcuts—just proper Mexican food made with heart.

Our Mission at Guacamoles is to serve more than just food—it’s about faith, community, and giving back.
For Chef Manny, this restaurant is a mission entrusted to him by God. He believes that without God’s blessings, he wouldn’t be where he is today. Every taco served is an opportunity to share his faith and remind others to always put God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit first.
Through Guacamoles, Manny hopes to not only bring people together over authentic Mexican cuisine but also to spread a message of love, gratitude, and faith.
